The man behind the songs

A lifetime on the land,
a lifetime in song

From a farm at Peak View near Cooma, Ernie Constance has spent half a century writing the songs of the Australian bush. In 1975 he sent “Things I See Around Me” to Slim Dusty, who made it a title track - the first of sixteen Ernie songs Slim would record.

A two-time Golden Guitar Awards finalist and a Hands of Fame inductee, he still runs his grazing property full-time and takes the stage at selected festivals around the country.
